Our inpatient facility in Lafayette, New Jersey offers the highest-quality addiction treatment combined with our carefully crafted Son Rise Christian Recovery Program.

The Son Rise Christian Recovery Program provides evidence-based addiction treatment that applies Biblical teachings to the 12 steps.

In addition to the usual daily activities provided in our residential treatment program, patients in the Son Rise program meet for group Christian drug counseling on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3-4 P.M.

Son Rise patients also:

  • Connect with other Christians for daily morning prayer.
  • Attend weekly Bible Study and Sunday Worship.
  • Meet for weekly groups focusing on topics including acceptance, love, forgiveness, hope, and planning for life without substances.

Group Participants will maintain a journal to reflect on group topics, to assist in their recovery, wellness, and relationship with Jesus.

This program is available to all Christian patients of any denomination that enter residential treatment in Sunrise House.

Program Director

The Son Rise Recovery Program is led by Ordained Pastor and Licensed Clinician, Jody Riscen MA, LCADC, CCS.

Riscen has been actively involved in the field of behavioral health for more than 25 years in various capacities. He began his experience in mental health working collaboratively with consumers and staff after attaining supervisory positions.  He has a passion for learning, leadership, development, and serving in his profession.

He completed post-graduate studies with Caldwell College in advanced counselor training, after completing a Master of Arts in Counseling from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ramapo College. He has worked within the field of addiction since 1996 and became a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LDADC) in 2005. He also completed biblical studies with the North Carolina School of Theology, earning an associate and bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies.
